Programme Notes and Musician Bios for the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra in Scotland

It was a privilege to be asked by the BBC to write notes and biographies for showcase concerts in Aberdeen and Glasgow by the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra.

Every year, the Euroradio Jazz Group puts together a European jazz big band under the name of the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra (EJO). The project can trace its roots back to 1965.

Each EBU Member may send one musician under age 30 to perform in public with the EJO, with two Euroradio Public Jazz Concerts organized by the host broadcaster. One concert is always recorded by the EBU host broadcaster, who is responsible for the rehearsals as well as its logistical and promotional planning.

The EJO concerts in Scotland were organized this year at the initiative of BBC Scotland, and took place on Thursday 17th November at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, and Friday 18th November at The Blue Lamp in Aberdeen

The concert from 17th November is available for broadcast by EBU radio organizations  from 25 November 2016.

The programme featured:
